When words fail, the heart keeps trying.

Sometimes, words are all we have to express love, even when we know they’ll never be enough. This chapter reflects on beauty, light, and the ineffable nature of feelings that transcend language.

I’ve seen beautiful things and met girls I liked; trust me, I have. And yet, you remain the most beautiful living being I’ve ever been in the presence of. You are like a falling star, trapped on this cold planet, never ceasing to shine. You are a source of everlasting light. Around you, it’s never night. Around you, people look better than they ever have in their lives. If you still don’t know why, just look in the nearest mirror—you’ll see the truth for yourself.

Yes, I know you’re laughing right now, but I’m completely serious when I say these things. It’s not that I have so much free time, to just sit here and write all this down. I feel a need to do it. To put my thoughts into words; not on paper, but on my phone, so that one day, you’ll be able to read them all. Hopefully, that day comes soon.

This letter is different, and it should be. I’m not trying to tell you what love is or that you should feel something for me or anyone else. There are countless ways to describe love, it’s a powerful thing. But all those words are meaningless if you haven’t felt it in your heart and soul. What I’m trying to say is how I feel about you.

Even now, I know I can’t fully explain every single feeling I’ve had. Words, in any language we possess, simply aren’t enough. Maybe someday, in the future, we’ll invent something that lets us show others exactly what we feel about them. Maybe then, I’d finally be satisfied.

Perhaps love is less about finding the right words and more about the effort to try. For now, these words are a light of their own, waiting to reach their destination.
